Mr & Mrs Bettson – It’s A Wonderful Life!

We were super happy to see this lovely couple tie the knot on Friday 22nd December 2017.

Sarah & Steven married at Polesworth Church at 1pm and then made their way with their guests to us for their wedding reception.

On arrival the couple & their guests were greeted by a fantastic Jazz Quartet to bring them into the whole theme of the wedding while they enjoyed their Canapes & Reception drinks.

Mr & Mrs Bettson went with a stunning set up of the venue with black table linen, white chair covers and amazing ostrich feather centre pieces. This added beautifully to the black & white movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” playing on the big screens in the room….. super romantic!

Dinner was served promptly at 4pm with a pianist playing in the background & the following menu:

Home-made Tomato Soup with Dinner Roll.

Roast Staffordshire Turkey Roast Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets, Sage & Onion Stuffing, Seasonal Greens & Roasted Root Vegetables

New York Cheesecake with Chocolate Pearls and Blueberry Syrup.

As the meal ended and our resident Dj GC Events – UK got ready to start the party the guests were firstly escorted to the glass terrace to watch a fantastic Fireworks Display launched by Jackflash Fireworks. This was the perfect way to get the guests into the party spirit.

The rest of the evening was partied away with food, drink and lots and LOTS of dancing.

We are so very proud that this lovely couple decided to choose us to work for them on their most special day & we wish them a lifetime of love & happiness.Special Thanks to Sorella events for their beautiful decor

‘Tis the Season to be Jolly!

We were really pleased to have Gareth Newstead Photography along on Saturday 9th December to caputure our guests enjoying one of our popular Christmas Party Nights.

Our guests arrived at 7pm for pre-drinks and were seated at 7.45pm for the start of their three course Christmas Feast.

Following their meal our superstar DJ GC Events – UK kicked off the party with good old Mariah Carey’s – All I want for Christmas!

The guests continued their celebrations until the wee hours of the morning.

We have uploaded some images of the night for you to take a look at.

We are already planning next Decembers parties so keep your eyes peeled on the website for more details!

Girl Guides Seminar

The Crow’s Nest has had a very busy schedule for December. Starting off with the annual Girl Guiding Midlands Seminar with over 165 guests in attendance.

We received a lovely email from the organiser after the event:

Dear Michelle,

We have been crazily busy here since our event at The Waterfront.

So I am sorry that we have not been in touch.

It was a great day on 3 December and really appreciated by all who attended.  Bronwyn and her team, especially the two young men, were fantastic – so helpful, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Please would you also pass on our thanks and appreciation to the Chef – excellent food and commented upon by so many who were there.

People even took photos of the pile of scones!

We would love to book again next year.  If you could confirm that the venue is available and you are happy for us to hold our morning and afternoon events at The Crow’s Nest – we would be delighted.

 Thanks to everyone.

The New Mr & Mrs Smith 18.11.17

Saturday 18th November 2017 we had pleasure in welcoming Samantha, Mark and their wedding guests to The Crows Nest function room at The Waterfront for their beautiful wedding day.

Samantha looked absolutely beautiful and glowed with happiness whilst an extremely excited Mark waited for his bride to walk down the aisle.

The ceremony was amazing and so touching to watch. This couple are so very happy & in love.

The guests then moved to the Garden terrace where they enjoyed their reception drinks & photographs around the ground of the marina. Being a chilly winters day they then decided to add additional images in the warmth of the venue.

They sat at 3.45pm to a specially prepared wedding breakfast consisteing of :

Goats Cheese And Red Onion Tart, with Balsamic Glaze and Rocket Salad

Braised Blade of Beef Mashed Potato, Honey-roasted Root Vegetables with a
Pancetta and Silver Skin Onion Jus

New York Cheesecake with Chocolate Pearls and Blueberry Syrup

Folllowing some very amusing speeches and toasts the staff hurried to clear and ready the room for the start of their evening function.

The couple had employed the services of an amazing band called Mother Popcorn to entertain their guests throughout the evening celebrations & all guests partied the night away.

We would like to wish Samantha & Mark every happiness in their future together as man & wife and from all of the management & staff at The Waterfront at Barton marina we truly congratulate you and a spectacular day.
